ShortTakes began early in 2016 and we have met each month at Joe and Pam’s house. We have shared many TED talks and similar presentations and many of us have gotten to know each other at a deeper level. This has also helped build a strong south Austin presence for CCV. We'll now be meeting at the Manchaca Public Library.
We will be meeting for Short Takes at our new venue, the Manchaca Public Library community room, this comingTuesday, September 11, from 10:00am - noon. Barbara Kaiser will be giving a short history of Medicare and addressing some important questions regarding this important resource in all of our lives.
Here are some of the questions we will be discussing:
1. What are Medicare vouchers?
2. How are we addressing Medicare fraud?
3. What are some of the benefit changes being considered by our current administration? Age change for onset of services? Medicare prescription limitations? What about hearing, vision and dental benefits?
The next Congress will face difficult decisions on the future of Medicare. Beneficiaries could be asked to pick up a larger share of the costs.
Remember to bring your coffee and a snack and come join us for this meeting. Also consider what topics you’d like to address in the coming months.
