(Co- facilitators: Ginny Fredricks and Pam Farley)

George Floyd’s death and the global protests that have occurred have opened up many of us White folks to want to explore White privilege/supremacy and steps we can take to dismantle it. A common question has been “What can I do as a White person?”

So, if you are ready to answer that question and explore White privilege/supremacy with other CCV members, Ginny Fredricks and Pam Farley are planning a group to address that topic. Please consider making a commitment and registering for a 6-session study group using the guidance of the book, "Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor", written by Layla Saad. The book is divided into topics useful for group study and includes questions for self-assessment and journaling. As the author notes, this is a personal journey that each of us must figure out on our own, but support from fellow White people is helpful.

We will meet once a week for 6 weeks via Zoom. Having your own copy (e-book or hard copy) is highly encouraged but not essential, as we can use the screen share feature on the Zoom platform. The group will be limited to 10 people to facilitate discussion. A commitment to the six-week session is expected. We will meet from 2:00 - 3:30pm for 6 Thursdays - August 13th; 20th; 27; September 3rd; 10th; 17th.
