Nancy Walker is the Executive Director of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Central Texas, a volunteer-run nonprofit founded in 1964. Since 2010, Nancy has spoken to dozens of senior groups about ways to make consumer-savvy final arrangements. Twice a year, she teaches an eight-session End-of-Life Options class through Lifetime Learning Institute (LLI) here in Austin. Nancy earned an MA in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in English at Tulane University’s Sophie Newcomb College.

Most recently, Nancy was selected by KVUE-TV for a Five Who Care award.  Five Who Care annually honors five people who go above and beyond in service to their community. In May, 2016, Nancy received the President’s Volunteer Service Award, created in 2003 by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation to thank and honor Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.
