Capital City Village is pleased to present Coach Chris Ogden Friday, October 22 at 12 noon. He will do a 20-30 minute presentation followed by 15 minutes for questions.
A former Texas player and assistant coach who spent the last three years as head coach at UTA, Chris Ogden enters his first season as Managing Director of Men’s Basketball at The University of Texas. The 40-year-old Ogden brings 18 years of collegiate coaching experience to the Texas staff.
Ogden was named the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year and the NABC District 24 Coach of the Year. He was a finalist for the Hugh Durham Award, presented annually to the nation’s top mid-major coach, and the Joe B. Hall Award, given annually to the top first-year head coach in Division I.
Chris played four years (2000-03) at forward for the Longhorns and was a member of four NCAA Tournament teams. He completed his career at Texas as the winningest player in school history with 97 total victories.
Coach Ogden and his wife, Katie, have three children, Bo, Ellie and Parker. Katie earned her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas and went on to graduate from The University of Texas School of Law in 2006. She served as UT student body president in 2002-03.
